Fish and Fish Tank Are IN!

Image
We got the first fish and a fish tank to add to our plants!   We are able to use a local fish that I don't know a lot about yet to cultivate! More about that later. We are doing some innovative things with the tank - like floating it in the water.  We are also using an electricity free water pump and aerator!  More about that later too :) Aquaculture and Compassion for the Poor (ACP) If you would like to give financially with a card – go to the following page and find the heading called: ·         Aquaculture and Compassion for the Poor (ACP) ----------------- If you would like to write a check , write the check to: ·       Cross Connections of KC ·       PO Box 901945, Kansas City MO 64190 ·       This is the non profit that takes care of my accounting and gifts - Cross Connections is a NonProfit with the EIN 45-4548192 for your records. Agriculture in Makoko

Image
This may be the first plant production that the 300,000 fisher-people of Makoko have ever seen.  They barely see the color green (although it pops up in surprising places)  This is just outside the missionary office window - which we built (both the office and the aquaculture system).   Solomon built both this aquaculture gangplank and finished the Chief's Cistern all in one morning - in the pouring rain!  He is a champion! My feet were swelled up so I went to get them massaged yesterday.  But that made me feel like the infection was spread through my whole body- but it did bring down some of the swelling in my feet.  So I sent out a prayer request.  Thank you for praying for me!  I feel so much better!  Thank You!  If you would like to be added to my prayer request news letter - just email me and I will add you (jkyle777@gmail.com)  Aquaculture and Compassion for the Poor (ACP) If you would like to give financially with a card – go to the following page and find the heading call

Thank you David Nkwa for your wonderful interview and challenge to the President and Governor of Nigeria for the People of Makoko.  I believe that Makoko can be a destination spot for many people - as it is a wonderland of life and friendship.   Watch YouTube Here Please come and be a part of their lives by staying and working at the missionary house.   Aquaculture and Compassion for the Poor (ACP) If you would like to give financially with a card – go to the following page and find the heading called: ·         Aquaculture and Compassion for the Poor (ACP) ----------------- If you would like to write a check , write the check to: ·       Cross Connections of KC ·       PO Box 901945, Kansas City MO 64190 ·       This is the non profit that takes care of my accounting and gifts - Cross Connections is a NonProfit with the EIN 45-4548192 for your records. A COOP for the Poor

Image
I have built a clean water cooperative that takes the money that the poor would otherwise spend on washing water and drinking water into a utility in which they own the water!   The cooperative can grow and expand into other self owned utilities.  It all started with your prayers and gifts!  It is a Christian Cooperative patterned after the first poor Christians who broke out of poverty by sharing and treating each other as family to be loved.  Here is a slideshow description of the cooperative .  Here is a link to a computer model of the cooperative to show its economic feasibility. I love fish now!

Lydia (Prince Taiwo's wife) taught me how good fish tastes when it is fresh from the ocean!  It had two lovely flavors of meat - which I didn't think was possible in one fish!   The Makoko people are from a long line of fishermen - like many of Jesus' disciples.  I'm still hoping to raise tilapia among the Makoko people. Better than expected!

Thank you for your faithfulness to the work here in Makoko.  You can’t know how much it means to me to know that there are Christians like you who care about this work.  Sometimes, I all of a sudden feel afraid.  This is the kind of afraid that I never felt in the US.  I really can’t explain it and it doesn’t happen often or for very long.  But in those moments, I think about the verse that says, “…perfect love casts out fear!”  And in this regard, you are there – as part of the God love that I have been surrounded with.  Thank you for letting your love shine in this work. This is our first working Cistern - set up in the missionary house.  Now you can come to Makoko as a missionary and have fresh water for a short or long term stay.  Sign up here to come I haven’t been able to find Hunsa and Sesi yet.  As you may remember, they were suppose to join me in the missionary house.  As it is Prince Taiwo and his family are living with me.  It might be God's providence in that it giv

Jack! What in the World!

Image
They named their Baby after me!  So now there are a pair of Jacks in Makoko!  (However, he also has an Egun Name)  In church, they have what's called a naming ceremony and out from that came my name and my new name-sake!  What a happy day - Jack the third!  Who would have guessed.   I still can't think it through - what does it mean?  Is there that much gratitude for my coming and trying?  I hope this is it - but if it is, then I am truly humbled!  Really, they should name their child after you guys - you sent me in your behalf!  I couldn't try without your caring spirits.  And then again, they should have named him Emanual because it's really He that set love in motion within our hearts!  Nevertheless, who can argue with Jack!  He is way more beautiful than I am...!  Aquaculture and Compassion for the Poor (ACP) If you would like to give financially with a card – go to the following page and find the heading called: ·         Aquaculture and Compassion for the Poor
